RUM WILLIAM HINTON ORIGINAL

William Hinton created his factory and rum distillery in Madeira in 1845, where the best rum is produced from carefully selected fresh sugarcane juice. His knowledge was passed down through the generations until one of his heirs founded the New Madeira Sugarmill (ENM – Engenho Novo da Madeira) and rebuilt the original still, to resume production of Madeira Rum. Thanks to the excellent quality of the sugarcane used, Madeira Rum is distilled only once, maintaining its aroma and freshness.

Did you know?

Sugarcane arrived on the island of Madeira by order of Prince Henry the Navigator in 1425. The plant adapted well to the climate of the island and the crop grew to such an extent that at the beginning of the 16th century the island was the largest exporter of sugarcane in the world.

Rum aged for 9 months in oak casks , which gives it a distinctive straw colour. Its unique features make it perfect for distinctive cocktails.

RUM WILLIAM HINTON 3 YEARS

Rum William Hinton 3 years is based on Rum William Hinton Original but is aged in French oak barrels for 3 years and gains a unique and unmistakable taste.

RUM WILLIAM HINTON NATURAL FERMENTATION

A white and crystalline rum. It reveals all of its natural flavour on the palate, with the freshness of the herbal notes. The sugarcane flavour is very present, with a long and spicy finish.

RUM WILLIAM HINTON 6 YEARS

Rum carefully aged for a minimum of 6 years in French oak barrels. The final blend is the result of a second ageing for a further year in barrels from a variety of different origins, including Madeira Wine. The result is a distinctive and complex rum.

This edition is the result of blending William Hinton 6 years (aged in French oak barrels) and a 25-year-old rum – one of the last to be produced by the Hinton distillery, which underwent a new ageing process, in barrels, for 3 years. To complete it, the result of this blending was improved with a Single Cask Finish of 9 months. Limited edition of 600 bottles.
